People with disabilities are the world's largest minority. In a world where modeling and entertainment has crossed all barriers of gender, size, shape, sexuality and color, this minority is still disproportionately represented in the world. Gamut Management is a model and talent agency that represents people with disabilities. For their launch as a company, they needed a modern brand that put them visually on the same wavelength as the model agency giants, but one that had a meaning behind it. Through many brainstorming sessions with the client, our team came up with a mission statement around the concept of a bridge connecting what is currently shown in the entertainment and modeling world, with proper representation of people with disabilities. Next, my challenge was to figure out how to create a logo that depicts the bridge concept without being too 'obvious'. After lots of competitor research, sketching, and typographic studies, I created a type mark that allows the brand to stand up for its mission while also being able to stand next to modeling elites like Ford and IMG.
